Diabetes Fit
Centre Branch YMCA 382 Waterloo Street , London Cost: None Diabetes Fit in collaboration with Centre Branch YMCA is a pioneering program designed specifically for older adults and seniors from racialized and marginalized communities. It aims to remove the barriers that often deter these individuals from accessing gym facilities and receiving expert guidance to manage their diabetes effectively. Our program provides invaluable resources, including access to a certified diabetes educator, physical trainer, to support holistic well-being and empower participants to lead healthier lives. Our program is 12 weeks starting Friday April 12th at 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Diabetes fit will take place once a week on Fridays until June 28th 2024. Participants will be provided with a free 12 weeks pass to the YMCA. As an optional component, participants have the opportunity to enhance their food literacy by learning how to cook culturally relevant vegetables.
