Our After-Hours Services

Public health staff are available evenings and weekends to respond to urgent public health issues and to investigate potential health hazards. Here are some of the types of issues we respond to outside of regular business hours:

• Reporting new outbreaks of infectious diseases
• Health care providers reporting high priority infectious diseases of public health significance
• Multiple food poisonings that might represent an outbreak
• Animal bites or scratches requiring rabies vaccine administration
• Adverse water quality test results
• Vaccine fridge cold chain failures

Breastfeeding Home Visits
The Middlesex-London Health Unit offers home visits for families with infants under six weeks of age who are experiencing breastfeeding challenges. To see if a breastfeeding home visit is right for you, call 519-663-5317.
