Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are spread through sexual contact (oral, vaginal or anal sex). Many STIs are easily treated, but if left untreated some STIs can cause serious illness, or even permanent damage such as infertility. If you're sexually active, you should get tested for STIs with each new sexual partner.
STIs can be spread through:
- semen
- vaginal fluid
- blood
- rectal mucus
- breast milk
