- Neglect
Neglect is when a caregiver or parent fails to meet a child’s basic needs. - Physical abuse
Physical abuse is the use of any physical force toward a child. - Emotional abuse
Emotional abuse is the use of any mental or emotional actions or words that harm, criticize, frighten, threaten, or coerce a child. - Sexual abuse
Sexual abuse is any sexual act directed toward a child.
