GO-VAXX Bus Mobile Vaccine Clinic Set to Make A Stop in London On Saturday

Posted by on

In order to increase opportunities to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and support uptake in communities that cannot access mass vaccination clinics as easily, the Province of Ontario’s GO-VAXX bus mobile clinic will make a stop in London’s Pond Mills neighbourhood on Saturday, December 11th.

The mobile bus clinic will provide first doses of COVID-19 vaccine to anyone five years of age and older, as well as second and third doses to those who are eligible. The goal of the mobile clinic is to reach those who have not yet been vaccinated due to barriers, such as convenience and limited transportation options.

The mobile clinic will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The bus will be parked at 1200 Commissioners Road East, in London (at Deveron Crescent and Commissioners Road East, near the former Zellers and close to the Food Basics). No appointments are necessary and anyone from the neighbourhood who would like to receive a dose of the vaccine is welcome to stop by.

The Ontario Ministry of Health, in partnership with Metrolinx has converted a bus into a mobile vaccine clinic, to create a convenient option for people to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. The bus travels across Ontario, to malls, festivals, events and community hubs. The bus is the platform for a fully operational mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic, which includes all the necessary supplies and trained staff to administer the COVID-19 vaccine safely. All COVID-19 public health safety precautions will be followed on board the bus, including screening for symptoms before entering, wearing a mask or face covering when inside the bus, and post-vaccination monitoring.
