With the return of the Western Fair now just a week away, parking changes are in store for clients of the Middlesex-London Health Unit’s COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinic at the Western Fair District Agriplex. As of Tuesday, September 6th there will be no parking available in the lot on the South side of Florence Street next to the Agriplex building, as preparations get underway for the 2022 edition of the Fair. This lot will remain closed until Tuesday, September 20th, to allow for clean-up after the Fair ends on September 18th.
While the parking lot next to the Agriplex will be closed, there will be limited free parking available for clients of the Agriplex Vaccination Clinic on the north side of Florence Street between September 6th and 20th. However, it is important to note that while some parking will be available, it will be in very short supply when the Western Fair is open. The fair will operate from Friday, September 9th to Sunday, September 18th, with gates open Monday to Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on the weekend.
“Even though it may be a little more challenging to get to our clinic during Western Fair, we encourage people to still book appointments to get the COVID-19 vaccine, especially with this week’s announcement about booster doses for five to 11 year-olds,” says Tracey Gordon, Manager of Vaccine Preventable Diseases with the Middlesex-London Health Unit. “With school starting next week and COVID-19 still spreading in the community, it is important to be up to date with the vaccine doses you’re eligible for. We also hope fairgoers will take advantage of the opportunity to get vaccinated while visiting the Western Fair.”
Parking for the vaccination clinic being held at the Agriplex tomorrow, September 3rd, will not be affected by the changes coming into effect on Tuesday, September 6th. Anyone concerned with finding parking for a vaccination appointment scheduled during Western Fair, may consider other methods of transportation, such as public transit, taking a taxi, walking, or biking to the Agriplex. If necessary, booked appointments may also be cancelled and re-scheduled online at www.covidvaccinelm.ca or by phone at 226-289-3560.
PLEASE NOTE – The Health Unit’s mass vaccination, mobile clinics and offices, will be closed for Labour Day on Monday, September 5th.
