The Middlesex-London Health Unit received report of a text/telephone scam. A fraudulent text message asks you to click on a link to complete COVID-19 screening questions and provides a fake telephone number to call the Health Unit. The telephone number listed in the text message is NOT the Health Unit’s telephone number (it looks very similar to our real number).

If you call the fake telephone number, a person on the phone will ask you for personal information, such as credit card information, and may ask you to purchase a gift card. This is a scam. The Health Unit will never ask you for credit card information or ask you to purchase a gift card.
