Celebrate smoke-free parks! Join us for an evening of off-leash dog walking, family-friendly activities and fresh air. The Middlesex-London Health Unit’s One Life One You team, in partnership with the London Dog Owners Association, are hosting a series of outdoor events at off-leash dog parks throughout the city starting July 19, 2018. The Dog Days in the Park events serve as a reminder that a smoke-free park is a healthier park.
Smoke-free parks protect children, youth, and adults from the harmful effects of exposure to second-hand smoke. They also support those who are attempting to quit smoking and/or using tobacco. Smoke-free parks help to maintain a clean environment. It’s estimated that 1.69 billion pounds of cigarette butts wind up as toxic trash each year, and sadly, it can take up to 25 years for a cigarette butt to decompose. Smoke-free parks reduce tobacco product litter, protecting our pets and natural wildlife.

This means that smoking is prohibited within the fenced-in area of the off-leash dog park. Learn more
