The Province of Ontario’s GO-VAXX bus mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic will return to London on Sunday, January 16th, making a stop at the new East Lions Community Centre. Since the fall of 2021, the bus has travelled to many Ontario communities, increasing opportunities for local residents to get their COVID-19 vaccine and supporting residents who haven’t been able to access mass vaccination clinics. The GO-VAXX bus has made two previous visits to London’s Pond Mills neighbourhood.
The mobile bus clinic will provide first doses of COVID-19 vaccine to anyone five years of age and older, as well as second and booster doses to those who are eligible. The goal of the mobile clinic is to reach those who have not yet been vaccinated due to barriers, such as convenience and limited transportation options.
The mobile clinic will be this Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The bus will be located at the East Lions Community Centre parking lot, 1731 Churchill Ave in London (near the corner of Wavell Street and Edmonton Street).
A limited number of COVID-19 vaccination doses will be available at the GO-VAXX bus clinic. Anyone who would like to receive a dose of vaccine must book an appointment in advance by visiting covid19.ontariohealth.ca/ and following the instructions under the Book your vaccine appointment section of the webpage or call 1-833-943-3900 to reach the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre. When booking over the phone remember to mention the appointment is for a GO-VAXX bus COVID-19 clinic.
Please note that the GO-VAXX bus vaccination clinic appointments for Sunday January 16th will be available for booking as of 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15th. Appointments must be booked on the Provincial booking website and not through the regular Middlesex-London booking site.
In partnership with Metrolinx, Ontario’s Ministry of Health has converted a bus into a mobile vaccine clinic, creating a convenient option for people to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. The bus is the platform for a fully operational mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic, which includes all the necessary supplies and staff to administer the vaccine safely. All COVID-19 public health safety precautions are followed on board the bus, including screening for symptoms before entering, wearing a mask or face covering when inside, and post-vaccination monitoring.
