The London-Middlesex Road Safety Committee, Active and Safe Routes to School, and Tony the Street-Wise Cat are visiting Stoneybrook Public School on Friday, May 4th. Fresh off production of his new animated Lego videos, Tony the Street-Wise Cat will join his human friends to teach children at Stoneybrook about the importance of walking to school and how to use Pedestrian Crossovers (PXOs) safely. Among the partners at the event will be representatives from the London Police Service, the Middlesex-London Health Unit, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, London Health Sciences Centre and the Stoneybrook School Travel Planning Committee.
The school visit comes just before the launch of a one-week safety blitz by the London Police Service to ensure motorists and pedestrians are using PXOs properly. The traffic features were introduced in London during the summer of 2016 and are located primarily in neighbourhoods near schools.
