We’ll provide some snacks, giveaways and an opportunity to test your Hepatitis IQ! World Hepatitis Day on Saturday, July 28th, marks a global effort to raise awareness on the importance of testing, prevention and treatment of Hepatitis.
Upwards to 600,000 Canadians are living with viral Hepatitis, and an estimated 44% are unaware they have the disease. Both Hepatitis B and C can lead to serious liver damage, liver cancer and the need for a liver transplant, but early diagnosis and treatment can help lessen damage to the liver and prevent spreading the virus to others unknowingly. New treatments that can cure the infection in most people can be completed within weeks, and is now more available and easier to access.
