Birth Control - Pick-up and Purchases
Birth control is available at the Middlesex-London Health Unit when prescribed by a physician from the Health Unit's Birth Control Clinic or with an original prescription from another health care provider. We will also accept a completed Consent to Dispense form from your health care provider. Please fax prescriptions to 519-663-8273.
Please allow 24 to 48 hours for the Health Unit to receive and process a prescription from your health care provider. If you plan to fill a prescription from The Clinic at the pharmacy, please allow 24 to 48 hours for the Health Unit to fax a prescription to your pharmacy.
Pick-up Hours
Birth control is available for pick-up at the Middlesex-London Health Unit, located at 355 Wellington St., London, ON (inside Citi Plaza), on the following dates and times.
- Monday - 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Tuesday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday - 8:30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m.
- Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- Due to the manufacturer shortage of Minovral, clients previously prescribed Minovral will be provided Ovima as substitute.
Prescriptions and Expiry Dates
If your current prescription for birth control has expired, you will require another appointment. You can make an appointment at The Clinic or with a doctor of your choice.
OHIP+
Starting April 1, 2019, the government is focusing OHIP+ benefits on children and youth who do not have a private plan. Children and youth 24 years of age and under who are OHIP-insured, but who do not have a private plan, will continue to receive coverage for eligible prescription medications through OHIP+.
