Infection Prevention and Control
Middlesex-London IPAC Hub
IPAC Hubs were created to support infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices in congregate living settings. In the Middlesex-London area, the IPAC Hub is integrated into the Middlesex-London Health Unit’s (MLHU) operations and IPAC activities are fulfilled by MLHU staff. Please contact MLHU for your IPAC needs and support.
Who We Serve
We serve congregate living settings in the Middlesex-London area, which include:
- Long-term Care homes
- Retirement homes
- Residential settings funded by the Ministry of Health
- Settings funded by the Ministry of Children, Community & Social Services (MCCSS)
- Group homes
- Supportive housing shelters funded by Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH)
- Shelters
- Residential Treatment Centres
- Hospices
Services We Provide
Middlesex-London IPAC Hub works collaboratively with community partners and stakeholders to provide the following support:
- IPAC education and training
- Best practice recommendations and implementation support
- Consultation and support for outbreak preparedness and response
- Communities of practice
- Supportive visits and consultations
- Assessments
- Coaching/mentoring on IPAC practices

Community of Practice
Long Term Care and Retirement Homes
- Occurs virtually (Microsoft Teams) last Tuesday of every month
- Please email ipachub@mlhu.on.ca for the meeting invites.
Other Congregate Living Settings
- Occurs virtually (Microsoft Teams) every third Thursday of every other month for other congregate living settings such as facilities funded by the MCCSS and MMAH.
