To increase the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine in Middlesex County, the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU), the County of Middlesex and the Municipality of Thames Centre are partnering to offer a mobile community COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the FlightExec Centre in Dorchester, on May 28th and 29th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Following the Government of Ontario’s announcement this morning, the Middlesex-London Health Unit will expand COVID-19 vaccination eligibility to adults 18 years of age and older (born in 2003 and turning 18 in 2021) on Tuesday, May 18th at 8:00 a.m.
Outbreak Declared, Attendees Advised To Quarantine, After More Than A Dozen COVID Cases Reported…
The Middlesex-London Health Unit is continuing the investigation of a COVID-19 outbreak that was declared following a funeral held in London earlier this month. The Health Unit announced today that 14 cases of COVID-19 have been linked to the event and that investigators have found evidence to suggest transmission likely occurred at private home gatherings, the visitation and the funeral.
Media Advisory: Middlesex-London’s Fourth Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic Prepares to Open
In advance of opening of the fourth COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Middlesex-London, members of the media will be invited for a walk-through tour of the Earl Nichols Recreation Centre on Friday, May 21st. The addition of the Earl Nichols site to the list of COVID-19 vaccination clinics will increase the number of appointments available to London and Middlesex County residents, as the region prepares to invite those over the age of 18 to receive their first dose of vaccine later this week.
Middlesex-London Health Unit Covid-19 Vaccine Eligibility Update
Following the direction of the Provincial Government, the Middlesex-London Health Unit will expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all individuals with at-risk health conditions such as dementia, diabetes and sickle cell disease, as well as essential workers who cannot work from home on Tuesday, May 11th at 8:00 a.m. The Health Unit will then expand eligibility to all those 40 years of age and older on Thursday, May 13th at 8:00 a.m.

New Health Unit Data Shows Increases in Vaccine Uptake Across All Age Groups
The Middlesex-London Health Unit released updated numbers today showing that more people across the region are rolling up their sleeves to get a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Each Tuesday the Health Unit updates the percentages of people across London and Middlesex County who have received a dose of vaccine, based on information from the COVaxON Provincial Vaccination Management System. Today’s update includes information entered in the system up to Saturday, May 1st and shows increases across all age cohorts, most notably those between the ages of 60 and 64, and 65 and 69, which saw increases of 16.3 percent and 15.5 percent, respectively over the previous week’s data.

City and County Libraries Work with MLHU to Reach Those Over 70 Yet to be Vaccinated
Today the Middlesex-London Health Unit, Middlesex County Library and London Public Library will launch a collaborative effort, which aims to reach adults eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine but have not yet been able to do so. Since vaccination appointments were made available to London and Middlesex County residents over the age of 80 on March 2nd, and later expanded to those over the age of 60 on April 12th, nearly 140,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered. While the Health Unit estimates more than 80% of those over the age of 80, and 65% of those between 70 and 74 years old, have already received their first dose of vaccine, a strategy was needed to reach those who had not yet booked their vaccine appointment.
